Missing the Forest for the Trees

The terrorism obsession of this administration has fogged their minds and blinded their eyes so that they have neglected their central duty under the Constitution. Death is death. It doesn't matter how you die. One death is no worse than another. The government's job is to "provide for the common defense" which should encompass defense against all threats to human life. But this administration has defined this so narrowly that it is tragically laughable.

Why FEMA Was Missing in Action - Los Angeles Times: "Three out of every four dollars the agency provides in local preparedness and first-responder grants go to terrorism-related activities, even though a recent Government Accountability Office report quotes local officials as saying what they really need is money to prepare for natural disasters and accidents."
